Dr Rudol recently operated on my back, I had a herniated disk, I was made aware in an honest manner about pros and cons by Dr Rudol. He put me at ease and I felt trusted in his care. No question was too small or time consuming. I can say that the operation has been successful and relief instant and this was done to me following aftercare advice given by Dr Rudol. I am aware that spine surgery of any form can be distressing and the thought of becoming paralysed but this is only in rare cases these days and with specialisist surgeons like Dr Rudol this is very rare. For me the choice of surgery was not hard rather than the thought of living with the acute pain I was suffering.

Mr Rudol put me at ease from my very first appointment. He explained in great detail what my operation entailed and in terms I could easily understand. In my experience Mr Rudol is an excellent surgeon and a very caring person. I would recommend him to anyone who requires surgery.

Recent decompression surgery for spinal stenosis. Very easy to communicate with explained everything about the operation and likely results in easy to understand terms. Great care before during and after the surgery.

I am 69 and having struggled with back and leg pain and deteriorating mobility for several years I was referred to Mr Rudol who after a thorough consultation agreed to carry out a lumbar laminectomy and spinal decompression surgery across L2,L3,L4 and L5, the procedure and all the risks were clearly explained to me. The procedure took place as advised at the end of May 2019 and since that day I have been pain free. I was also mobile within a few hours and my mobility has improved daily since the procedure, the site of the incision healed quickly and the dressing removed permanently after 12 days. It is now 37 days since the procedure, I am well advanced in the reduction in my levels of medication, pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs which have been a feature of my life for the last 5 or 6 years. I am now back at my gym and exercise regularly under the supervision a physiotherapist and enjoying a new lease of life and still totally pain free. Needless to say I hold Mr Rudol's professionalism in the highest regard and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone with spinal stenosis that is not improving through exercise.

Mr Rudol was first class. He took pains to explain in detail what was proposed, how the operation would be performed and what I should expect afterwards. I can not comment on his ability as a surgeon but if I say that I walked into hospital in pain and having difficulty walking and that I walked out without pain and now, some weeks later, I am returning to the level of fitness I lost four years ago - that must say a great deal for Mr Rudol's competence as a surgeon' My only constructive observation would be that the aftercare on the ward and discharge management was, from my perspective, somewhat chaotic and disorganised. During the night when I needed care following a poor reaction to the anaesthetic I felt very well cared for. But once that period had passed I felt that I was little more than an encumbrance to the ward staff who had other things to do. Perhaps they did have other more pressing priorities but I was left to my own devices for eight hours
